Upscale AI ("the app") is developed by Julian Beck ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app. In short: your photos are processed only to create your result and are not kept by us, we don't track you, and we don't sell data.

1. Your photos

On your device. Photos you pick, your results and your upscale history are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. Date, location and camera details of your original photo stay on your device and are only written into the saved result if you leave "Keep Date & Location" turned on. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Photo library access. The app asks for permission to add photos so it can save results. It asks for full access only if you use "Replace Original", which saves the result as an edit of the original photo in Apple Photos (you can undo this anytime with Edit › Revert).

Processing. When you run a tool (for example Upscale, Fix Faces, Colorize or Restore), a resized copy of the photo is sent over an encrypted connection (TLS) to our server, which runs on Cloudflare. The server forwards it to our AI provider, Replicate, Inc., which creates the result.

• Our server does not store your photo. It is held in memory only while your request is processed.
• The copy uploaded to Replicate is deleted by our server as soon as the result is ready. Replicate automatically removes the inputs and outputs of each processing request after one hour.
• Your photos are never used by us to train AI models and are not shared with anyone else.

2. Other data we process

• IP address and an anonymous app user ID – to prevent abuse and enforce daily usage limits. Stored in Upstash (Redis database); the counters expire after about 26 hours.
• Anonymous app user ID, purchases and subscription status – to unlock Pro and restore purchases. Processed by RevenueCat, Inc. for as long as needed to provide purchases.
• Anonymous usage events (e.g. "app opened", "image upscaled"), device model, iOS version, app version, language and screen size – to understand how the app is used and fix problems. Sent to our own Plausible Analytics server (stats.juli.sh) and kept only as aggregated statistics.

The anonymous app user ID is a random identifier created by RevenueCat. It is not your name, email address or Apple ID. Analytics do not use cookies, advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking, and are not linked to your identity.

Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

3. Service providers

We use these providers only to run the app:

• Cloudflare, Inc. – hosts our server (privacy policy)
• Replicate, Inc. – AI image processing (privacy policy)
• Upstash, Inc. – rate limiting (privacy policy)
